Description
This ride is suitable for new members who perhaps haven’t had the chance to get their scooters out beyond the city limits yet. Riding on two wheels through beautiful countryside is an exhilarating experience, so come and join us for a real treat. Our destination is a beautiful part of outer Melbourne, the cool green Dandenong Ranges. Unlike David’s other rides in the area, this will be a shortish ride linking together some great roads. We’ll meander along at a leisurely pace keeping away from the major tourist roads. For those that know the hills well, hopefully our route will offer some surprises. We'll delve through forests of towering mountain ash and stringybark, buzz past quaint 1920s guest houses and gracious homes set in grand European gardens and plunge into verdant fern gullies all the while breathing in the fresh eucalypt-scented mountain air.

Your ride leader will be Pete Zimm who has expert knowledge of the area.

Picnic Lunch
A picnic lunch is planned at a lovely spot in the forest near a bubbling brook. It’s also close to a secret natural spring so bring a water bottle if you want to collect clear spring water that emerges from under a mountain. If you would like tea or coffee then bring along a thermos of hot water.

Ride Departure Point and Time
We will start out late morning at 11am sharp from our usual meeting spot in the east, Britannia Mall, 485 Whitehorse Road, Mitcham. Pull into the north side service road at the start of Mitcham shopping centre. Please arrive earlier if you need a coffee beforehand. Several cafes in the mall will cater for our needs.

IMPORTANT, there will be no fuel stops on this ride so please arrive with a full tank. Remember to pack that picnic lunch!
