What:

The Vespa Club of Melbourne has participated in the Maling Road Auto Classico event in Canterbury since its inception four years ago. Maling Road is an historical precinct in Canterbury that has a unique village atmosphere. The street will be closed for this popular event. All members are welcome to come along - its free! However for club members who own classic geared Vespas, here is a chance to polish up your pride and joy and to display it amongst the finest automobiles ever made.

When:

Sunday 18 August 2019.

Ride directly to Maling Road: Arrive before 9:30 AM and look for David and the club banner.

Or join a Ride in: If it suits you, join us for a group ride there. We are meeting from 8.30 am at Dr Morse Cafe, 274 Johnston St, Abbotsford. >>MAP. It is Victoria Park Station, so just park behind the pillars. Free coffee courtesy of the club and depart at 9.30 AM bound for Maling Rd.

VCM Display Areas at Autoclassico:

We have two display areas.

Area 1 is our prime display site on the corner of Bryson Street in the middle of the Maling Road action. Its in front of the planter boxes outside the local IGA. This will be reserved for 7-9 scooters, classics only please. Look for the VCM banner.

Area 2 is opposite in the laneway alongside "Pocket of Lollies." Space for 7-10 scooters. Please allow older Vespas to park closest to Maling Road with autos parking nearer to the station.

Bump in time is between 9:00-9:30am. Because of the manoeuvring required, cars will have priority to park first and then scooters.

Catch up with fellow scooters owners for a chat over coffee then stroll along Maling Road to admire the numerous motorcycles and automobiles on display, many of them very rare and expensive.

    Hi Stephen

LOL that is funny, but as you will be one of the few riders with indicators would you like to lead the ride there?  Can chat more at Dr Morse...:)

Thanks David. I should point out that it's my other three wheeler, the Ape that's coming. I assume this is still okay.

Hi Rolf, I met with the organiser this morning. Your sidecar outfit will have pride of place on the corner of Maling Road and Bryson Street. As there will be many cars shuffling about during the bump in, it would be best to enter the area from the south down Bryson Street. We'll pop our banner up near your scoot. Rain rain stay away, David

Rolf I have spoken to Peter tonight and he would like to put your 3 wheeler in a featured spot.  I hope you are happy with that :)

All going well we will have a great display of vespas for all to see on the day.

See you at Dr Morse for that free coffee..

    Cheers Julie
