I have insured my scooter (not a Vespa - shock, horror) with Shannons. They are quite competitive. Check them out, and compare. Call 13 46 46 for a quote.

Pays to shop around. I know QBE and Swann are related. Swann have an established reputation with 2 wheelers. Hope you can find a great deal and never have to make a claim. Keen to know what the final result is.

    Hi Mal

Always difficult with insurance. It depends on whether they are on full rego or club permit. My club permitted vehicles are with RACV. Most insurance companies have a seperate arm that deals with vintage veteran classic and historic vehicles so you need to be certain you are speaking with the right department. With RACV you need to be a member which is a down side. With RACV you also get full side road service included. Yes a tow truck to get you home. I have needed it once. Then there is the cost of the premium which will depend on how much cover you want ie 2k or 9k. You need to weigh up what the policy offers that will be useful to you. Need to read and compare these well. Hope this helps. Happy shopping.

Ive insured my new Primavera 150 with RACV. Full comprehensive was $173. I got a quote with AAMI for $700 !  RACV has a long history in Victoria, the only thing that concerns me is online there were some negative reviews with car insurance claims.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has actually had their scooter repaired with an insurance claim.

Hi Mal. Coming off Famous I was in the same boat. I found that some insurers simply aren't interested in motorcycles based on the ludicrously high premimums they were asking. After a lot of searching around I settled on Swann Insurance. 2016 GTS, $6.5k agreed value, $400 excess, premium = $276. Please let us all know if you find a better deal. David
