Oakleigh to Emerald return

Emerald Explorer - 115kms

a part suburban part hills ride using long straight suburban roads and windy hills road on the way to Emerald Lake where Puffing Billy has a station, then on to Berwick with a little fast stretch (90 kmph) before heading to Harkaway and back along Heatherton Road.

Meet at cafe in Oakleigh, toilets at Emerald and Berwick, travel the scenic Harkaway and A'Beckects Roads in Narre Warren North, with some stunning views of Melbourne's south east and PPB (Pt Philip Bay) on a good day. Return to Oakleigh for lunch in the Greek equivalent to Lygon St or head to eateries in Noble Park (Sri Lankan), Clayton, Huntingdale or Springvale.

    Hi Roy

Another great little ride for the shorter winter days.  Just need to pin point meeting place, departure time and somewhere for eating... doesn't have to be fancy, just a good bakery is the best.

Thanks so much for you and your fellow PX buddies for doing the research into these rides.  We appreciate any help we can get.

    Cheers Julie

Thanks for the feedback Greg, I've still got a bit more work to do, to be clear on details. Speak soon.

  • Hi Roy

    It's a good looking ride.

What stops do plan along the way - a couple of nice scenic stops with the bikes in view... and you know that David loes anyhing ld and historical like bridges.

Some advice on rider experience? Is it OK for inexperienced?
